Zoe just stared. If she looked as if she was seeing a ghost...she was. The Shepherd was lucky that Zoe didn't react the way she had when she came upon Wash; then again, the Amazon wasn't so sure what Book might do if he were attacked. The man had secrets after all, even if he was kind hearted and good right now.
Her hand lifted quickly to touch the older man's face; it was definitely a sense of awe. Miracles were one word for what was happening to them, another might have been curse, or hell, or gorram clusterrut. When fingers touched cheek, they quickly pulled away.
"Shepherd, I haven't seen you in some time." The tall woman wasn't one given to crying, fighting and such yes, but not crying. Yet, her eyes were certainly on the watery side. "How are you? How long have you been here? Are you okay? Don't need to sit down?" She was looking for a place to sit because sitting, drinking, and fighting, maybe with a little shooting thrown in, might have been a cure to what was ailing her.
The frustrating part? She knew this should have been nothing new, but seeing the walking dead, or at least the walking dead that had no intention of eating her brains, was still a bit of shock to the system.
