Zoe had had a long day, a very long day, but not the bad sort of long though. She'd spent a good bit of it firing at innocent targets; the girl hadn't been bad either. The Amazon wasn't certain where she'd lost the blond, but she'd lost her. That sort of thing happened in the City; people were found then lost or lost then found. She'd lost and found her husband a few times now, and she would probably lose and find him many more times. It was only slightly frustrating.
Why had the City decided to give her a bit of a problem when it came to getting home, or at least to the ship. The Amazon paused for a moment; it was the first time she'd ever thought of some bit of rock as home, instead of a ship or the Black, and she wasn't at all pleased with it. The Black was all she'd known, and now she was actually considering this damn place her new home? Had she been here that long?
Her lips pursed as she started walking again. She hadn't expected to meet anyone she knew while roaming the streets, trying to find...something. Her brow lifted as she saw him...
"Shepherd?" Was that him? He had been brought to the City. How the hell could the City bring them all here? He was dead. Wash and Book were dead. There was a soft sigh; this place was going to make her crazy.
