It thought for a long moment about what she asked. About the details. It didn't want to give her too much at once, it decided. It would tell her very basic things.
"The civilization is meant to make those I bring in comfortable. I need for them to be comfortable. If they came to a barren place with no people, no buildings, they would never acclimatize."
The City eyed Baba. It had a feeling that she would enjoy being 'employed' by it. Working with it. Knowing secrets nobody else knew. She might also in the future turn on it. Use these secrets against it.
But did that mean she could destroy it? No.
"It's a symbiosis." The City went on, moving the body in a stiff manner which it thought might represent a little authority, a little bit of a teacher's air. "Those I bring in are those that attract me. There is no one reason, no process. I feel outward, if I like what I touch, it's mine."
