The gun was pointed at her again, and something in Karen snapped. She had been trying to be nice. For once in her life, she'd been caring about somebody's feelings other than her own. She was being honest so that somebody wouldn't get hurt, instead of being honest because it was funnier that way.
The way she saw things changed. Suddenly Harley was moving a lot slower than a normal human.
Karen's eyes burned brightly with the anger she felt. She rushed forward, forcing Harley's hand down so that the gun was pointed at the ground. She was inches from the other woman's face.
"You should stop shooting people who are trying to be nice to you." It came out in a growl, and she was showing her teeth even though she wasn't doing it on purpose.
