God, she was just like Marian! Guy growled and got to his feet. He managed to keep his hand off his sword but it was very tempting to reach for it.
“Why do all you women think you can play with me this way?” He stepped away from Kaylee, hoping she wouldn’t see the anger in his eyes. “I tell you how I feel and I know you feel the same and yet you push me away.”
He got his emotions under control and knelt down in front of her again. Guy took her hands in his again and looked into her eyes. He could convince her of the truth, he knew he could. Kaylee wasn’t like Marian, she was better. Kaylee loved him, he knew she did. He just had to get her to stop thinking so much. Women that thought too much were always trouble.
“Sweet Kaylee, don’t try to find logic in this. It’s simply fate and was meant to be.” He leaned forward and kissed her again. “The heart knows what the head denies. Listen to your heart. It will tell you we are meant to be. Please. Don’t push me away.” He hated begging, but his heart would not survive loosing two women that he loved so close together.
But when he thought about it, Guy was surprised that his affections for Marian shifted so quickly.
