Guy frowned. Was she questioning his love for her? Did she think he was the type to succumb to some witch’s curse that would make him love some random woman? She was beginning to sound like Marian with all those doubts. At least he took some comfort in knowing this Mal fellow wasn’t a threat.
“I am not some simpleton that is easily influenced by some City!” He was not happy with this turn of her feelings. “You should not doubt your own heart or mine. I do not give my love freely, milady. Nor to one undeserving of such affections.”
He took at deep breath and brought his hand up to cup her cheek. “There is nothing ‘fishy’ going on. We were just meant to be together and God found a way for that to happen. Don’t fight it and don’t think about it. Just feel it.”
Guy leaned forward and brushed his lips against hers in an inappropriate public showing of his affection. But it seemed necessary to quiet Kaylee’s questions of his intentions. “Just feel.”
