"No!" Kaylee's eyes widened considerably. "You can't. Mal's like.. It's not like that. No. Mal's my captain. I mean, like my boss. But he's more like my dad really. He takes good care of me, I swear." Kaylee looked down at his hands holding her hands to his chest.
"..You want to control my life?" Kaylee shook her head, looking back up to him. Sure she loved him, for whatever gorram reason, but none of this made any sense.
WHAT ABOUT KYLE. Something in her yelled.
"I can't.. I mean.. For whatever reason I feel like I love you, Sir Guy. But.. I don't.. this city does.. things to people and I.." She was looking at him then. She couldn't say she wanted to go, even when she did. She should go. "There's no reason for you to love me. You hardly know me. I hardly know you for lugnuts sake! Doesn't that seem.. fishy to you?
