Mine's simple, I'm from Texas. But that don't mean that everybody here is from where I'm from. Or has encountered what I have."
Jesse'd been in the City for a very, very long time. Everything he ran into was commonplace now. It was routine. Maybe it was a bad sign when the absurd became normal.
