Much more than meets the eye(Claire/Cupid Challenge)
After the kind and gracious assistance of the gentleman Wash, Much was back on his way out. The chill had nearly left he air and he was feeling all the better for it! Freshly bathed, a 'shower!' what a magnificent device, letting one stand and rinse so efficiently. Still it was not the relaxing soak of a bath but it was refreshing indeed! But such wonders as he had been shown would have to take second to his priority, he had to know if his Master was here.

Robin was his first and foremost concern and if he was here in this City, as Wash had informed him it was called, then he had to find him. So now with the absence of snow, a full belly and a good bit more knowledge of the place than he had, had before Much set out into The City!

He strode into the towering sight of this place with no fear, ok well perhaps some. He was after all quite used to living as an outlaw for these past ears and that tended to make one rather cautious. But he kept his mind focused as he walked, his garb getting him more than a passing strange glance. He had also been educated that people of this place were from many times and what was the norm for him might well be freakish for others.

He would persevere! He would. And perhaps get some lunch.

Claire was still worried about the masked man that she'd met before. She hadn't wanted to let him go but she did tell him that she was not going to tell what she saw. Why had she made that promise? She could have been helping him, or at least gotten him some help right now. She wondered if she would run into him now on her little walk.

She did not see him, but what she did see was most disturbing to her. There were people all over that were kissing and hugging and just basically all over each other. She knew that if Noah saw something like this, he really would not like it. And Claire didn't really know what to make of it. She considered asking if everyone had taken a lot of ecstasy but she preferred not to draw any attention to herself.

She was about to head back, but then something weird happened and she had this warm feeling throughout her entire body, she looked up and saw...him.

He hadn't ventured far into the City, not far enough at all to see the above average numbers of people pairing off. Not that it was so unusual around him, he had said so before that he noted how others stepped away in two by two and at that time it had left him with Little John, he was not pleased in the least.

Fingers scratched at his rough straggle of a beard as he peered into one dark window in passing, unable to see much more than his own reflection. Well and that of another figure approaching from his side. Much blinked and whirled to face the new comer.

"Ouch!" He hissed out as a sharp pain struck between his shoulder blades. He did a frantic dance as he tried to reach back and feel for the irritation. That soon passed though as in his comical maneuver he more clearly saw the fair haired young woman before him.

"Goddess...." He breathed the title as he looked to the beauty in awe, Much bowed hastily and tried to straighten his raggedy clothing.

Claire noticed that the man was acting very strangely and she wasn't too sure why that was. She felt weird too, but it was like he'd stepped out of a comedy or something. She was about to tell him there was nothing there but then she caught the way he was looking at her.

Her face turned many shades of red as she looked at the man. He was sweet and he'd called her a goddess.

"Claire actually." She told him. "But you can call me that if you want, my handsome knight."

Handsome knight? What was wrong with her?

"Claire," He breathed the name as if it was a prayer. His eyes looking on adoringly at her. "Claire, fair Claire." He could almost feel a song coming on but his tongue had the good sense to still it before it came. He pondered for a moemnt what would his Master do in such a situation....he had often seen Robin charm the fairer sex but lacked those self same skills.

"Oh, I'm no knight." He dropped his head a bit, then quickly raised it again, standing tall and proud. "But soon to be an Earl! Lord Much of Bonchurch." He declared with no little amount of pride. He smiled warmly quite happy with the way the title sounded even on his own lips.

"I see no one with you, dear lady may I presume to accompany you wherever it is you may be traveling?" He had no idea where she was headed and realized at that moment he didn't really care. He simply extended the crook of his arm to her and smiled broadly.

"An Earl? Well, that is very impressive in itself." Claire said, listening to him. She could not explain why but she was so taken by the strange man, even though she'd never even seen him before. She couldn't shake the smile that had appeared on her face, and for once she was not worrying about all of her own problems. She had something else to focus on, strange as it may be.

When he mentioned that he didn't see anyone with her, she nodded. She was on her own right now, something that was both freeing and terrifying to her. She had never really had this kind of freedom. "Oh no, I'm on my own, but I would love for you to come with me. It's not too exciting though, just a walk."

He rather thought it was impressive as well, and rushed to nod as she agreed. "The lands are not huge but the estate is well large enough for a man to get lost in. Large enough indeed to provide well for a man and...his family."

He spoke and looked to his arm, she had yet to take it but he still had it out in offering, he would not retract that now. Not ever in this case. He finally knew the feeling he saw when his master looked upon Marian, he knew that deep sense of need in seeing her and sense of completion felt around her. As if a part of him had been missing and he had never known it before.

"A walk with you m'lady would be as exciting as.." He stumbled over his words or lack there of. "...as anything else i could possibly imagine."

"It sounds lovely." Claire said. She didn't care much about how big the estate was. Claire didn't really spend a lot of time worrying about things of that nature.

She took the offered arm and smiled at him. "Thank you Earl Much." She said, she didn't know why but she was so completely smitten with him right now. What would Noah have said? At this point? Claire did not care.

"Let's go." Claire said. She didn't know where they would end up, but as long as they were together things would surely work out.
