"What do you mean we've met? I think I would remember somebody like you. I mean, I'm not a genius or anything and my memory isn't photographic, but you kind of stand out a little bit."
But Ted racked his brain anyway. Trying to come up with some way that he might have met her without realizing it. Something that would have her remembering who he was. His name, even. She couldn't be some random waitress. He was too nondescript for any waitress to recall him over any great amount of time.
He frowned when he wondered if she might have been one of the girls ... one of those girls that he'd... done stuff with when he'd been a CEO and had spent a lot of money traveling places and cheating on his wife.
She couldn't be... could she?
He squinted his eyes, trying to place her. Hoping that he hadn't done something with her that he shouldn't have. She seemed pretty young. That could get him into trouble no matter where he was.
