"You should know that the ending of Hannibal is a complete fallacy. I would never in my life remove my hand for anybody. Let along Clarice Starling, no matter how intriguing she may be. Clearly the general public didn't agree with the book's end, and they changed it so the villain would not get all he gets."
Hannibal sat very still in the chair, studying Cameron once more.
"You do realize that I needn't be Anthony Hopkins to do such things, do you you not? Are you not one of those that prefers the monster you know to the one you do not? Perhaps you enjoy an air of mystery and danger to those whom you work around." Hannibal's joke was a little less friendly, he knew. But he was playing on her theme. Some people did actually enjoy being scared, as well.
