"Temporarily, eh? Well, you must be a real high flyer 'round here then."
It wasn't even obvious whether he was being sarcastic or giving her a compliment. His words were somewhat blank and emotionless as he worked.
Perry took the suturing needle from the nurse who'd prepared it for him, deciding to attack the leg wound first. He peeled the pad he'd used to clean and sterilize it away from the wound, examining it for a moment before placing the plastic sheet over the top and aligning it properly.
He glanced up, catching sight of her hand stroking his head, and made a comment as he lowered his eyes back to the leg wound. "Y'know, we kinda really wanna keep him awake right now, so maybe you lovebirds can save your sickening make-out session for after we've saved his ass."
He slid the needle into the skin, pinching the cut together with one hand while he stitched quickly with the other.
