There was always a chance the spell might be too easily accepted. The man wanted love; perhaps he was a painful romantic in nature, or he needed something that he wasn't getting elsewhere. Either way, she was going to have to work with this one carefully. Her head tilted forward; her laughter was light and pleased.
"No, no, please, there is no need to upset your life to watch over my little shop. Go..." She made a quick shooing motion. "I'll still be around, but I would feel better if you were wasting your time here."
She needed the place empty. Xanadu could be a little noisy when they got started, sometimes, not always. She didn't need this would be knight to get anxious and run down...
"You know what I could use...there is a small shop not far from here." Give him a quest. "It has these little pastries that I adore. You would win my heart forever if you could find them. I'm not certain what the place is called, but I do know it smells like apples and vanilla...sometimes lavender."
She didn't know if the place existed, but he'd have to look for it, surely, to please her. "It's run by a small German woman; well, she sounds small and German."
