Charlie was happy; at least, he wasn't unhappy. The snow had this white-out effect on the City; everything seemed new, clean, as if when the snow melted, things would be reborn. He liked that. He liked seeing the children play even if they were getting a little wet and cold in the process. How could crime happen in this sort of weather? Rather easily he suspected, but he supposed crime happened in all weather.
With the thick coat pulled tight, his gloved hands buried in his pockets, and his head covered in some knit cap, Charlie looked as if he belonged in the snow, as if he'd never had the issue that might cause some Californians, namely those in L.A., to stop and wonder when the world went crazy. Then again, Charlie didn't have most of the hangups people had.
He'd been walking the "beat", getting to know the City as well as he could. Also, he was trying to decide what kind of gift one got for a partner who obviously ranked one but who probably didn't have the same financial backing as one did. Plus, she was female, so that could cause a few problems with HR. She also seemed rather particular about things. She had gotten him books and a fish. So, he needed to find something that would approximate a fish and books.
Charlie was considering his choices as he came upon the young woman, who seemed to like the natural look, and a very big canine. He looked around then at the pair again. He even looked up at the building, which if she did live in the building, she certainly was going for a new style. Maybe that was how kids were doing things these days. His eyes narrowed slightly; he even grimaced a little.
"You know, I always wondered how many does it take to make a pack?" It was a little out of the blue, but hey, there was a wolf.
