Wes puffed up a little bit at her description of their reknown.
"Legend? Well, I would never have hazarded to say that, but since you mention it. Well. Buffy would be pleased."
He picked up a pencil and tapped it, eraser-down, on the desk a few times.
"Well, I would worry less than you about you fitting in here. In fact, my current Slayer charge of sorts is far more outlandish in appearance than you are, my dear. I believe there is even a girl wandering around the City with purple hair that matches her dinosaur. The City brought you here, it tends to try to provide for it's inhabitants. As for life going on, well...."
He cleared his throat.
"We have no way of knowing if or how anyone is transported back to their world, but it wouldn't be out of the question to assume one would be sent back to the moment or close to the moment where they were taken here. As to how can people from the same world but different times be here with no recollection of it, that's a good question. Fred here was taken from a time in our world before I was taken, so I know things that happened after she was taken. But the Fred I know wasn't taken. I think this depends on the explanation of each choice creating two realities, one in which you chose one way and one in which you chose the other. That's as far as I've gotten with the development of that theory, we've had some interruptions."
