No, Raven hadn't really grasped that she was stuck. It would come later, as she sat down and thought back through the whole conversation. Turns of phrase would sink in, and she'd realize. But for now? She was blissfully unaware, and Fred and Wesley were spared having to deal with an upset kid.
"Seriously?" Raven's face lit up. "Those kinds of Slayers? As in Buffy the? You guys are..." Uh. An awesome television show that she watched off-and-on with her friend Mac? Yeah. Raven wasn't about to finish that thought. It was just too weird. "Really huge where I come from." She filled in, instead. "Like, my friend Mac tells stories about you guys all the time. You're kind of legend."
There. Now: time to change the subject before they could ask many questions. Raven's spirits seemed to be lifted, though. She didn't look as confused and upset as she had. "I'm not really so worried about vampires. I just wanted help figuring out who brought me here, but if it's not the Powers and it's not retaliation, I can handle myself."
"Fit in?" Raven asked, perplexed again. "How? I don't really -- I've only been to one school, and I don't really blend in, if you haven't noticed." The smile was lopsided, and Raven looked up, reddish gaze unwavering. "And you're saying that my life's going on back home without me?"
Okay. It was starting to sink in. Raven's good cheer was suddenly gone again.
