Hannibal listened to her and nodded. "I assume that means that you'll be doing for me what George did, once or twice?" He thought about it a little further. "Or will we be spending more time than that together?"
If he had to spend time with one of the reapers, Hannibal decided he'd much rather it be Betty than George. George had been rude and gruff. Betty seemed polite and proper. Not to mention well educated. If they had to spend time together, at least they could talk about things.
"I pride myself in my mannerisms. I was brought up that way, and I wouldn't want to think I've shamed my mother." Of course, Hannibal thought his mother would approve of the things he did, no matter what. She'd been a strong woman, and not very tolerant of rudeness.
"Please. Let's find some place to have a drink and get to know each other. If you would like to, of course."
