i_shop Chai makes everything better [open]
At first she laughed a lot, because she couldn’t quite believe what was happening to her, but then felt bad for it, so she started to cry. After a while, it felt draining to do anything at all, and she was too lazy to even get out of bed in the mornings.
She had to, though; she couldn't stay indoors all day. It felt weird to be living with someone she hardly knew, owing him a favour for having her stay in one of the most extravagant apartment she'd ever set foot in. (She was even wearing one of his t-shirts, it was too big for her, and not something she'd usually wear, but it was better than what she had- a singlet with a hole in it.) She should get her bearings, find a place of her own, get a job, even.
A visit to a small coffee shop near Harry's place (was it there a week ago? Shannon couldn't be sure), and she was armed with a jumbo sized cup of chai, looking at the small noticeboard outside, which advertised used cars, garage sales and part time positions in sushi restaurants.
From: i_ambadluck Date: 05/08/2006 16:54:03 Felicia had been meaning to get a new job for a while, since she'd quit her last (very short) stint teaching little kids how to roll around on mats and look silly. Too bad she generally hated kids, she just needed something to do so she wasn't so bored all day, since it seemed that her bank account here in the city seemed to be just as comfy as it had been in New York.
Having gotten used to the shifting of The City, she wasn't surprised to find this place closer to her apartment than it had been a week or so ago. Satisfied that she'd at least found a coffee place to begin with, she got herself her usual, regular black coffee, and move to the self service station to add three sugars and a bit of nutmeg.
Taking a large sip of her concoction while she smoothed dark hair behind her ears, she Felicia saw the notice board outside and thought she'd take a gander. "Oh. Sushi."

Life was totally not fair. Shannon was used to the high life (thank you very much, gullible stepbrother), and even a stint on a deserted island could not change that when she was back in the comfort of civilisation. She did have a not-so-plushy bank account, but she had no cards or forms of identification, which made life that much harder.
She glanced at the approaching brunette, and tore off the last strip of contact numbers on the ad.
Something told her that she wouldn't be very good at waitressing, so the only thing to do was eliminate the competition, manners be damned.

Her brow quirked, then smirked, sipping her coffee again. "I've already memorized the number, but that's fine," she shrugged. "You obviously need the job more than I do."

Her first reaction was to snap, or to scoff, and deny it. But unless that would rake in the cash (well, some people do make money from being professionally unpleasant), there wasn't much point.
Instead, she shoved the strip of paper into her pocket and glared, making a sort of indignant "hmph" sound at the back of her throat.

"I'll even stop by to see if you got the job," Felicia continued. "I'll bring some of my friiiiends, and we'll have a nice lunch, and leave you a big tip!" Alright, she was just being a bitch now, but it was fun. She pretty much just wanted to see how far she could take this.

Was she wearing a "push my buttons" badge today?
With an expression that clearly said my smile is pasted on, "That's so considerate of you," she said dryly, and continued to scan the noticeboard.
