Green Goblin. An asylum.
Things weren’t changing for the best here in The City. He didn’t approve. However, he now had a regular paying job. That was something he did approve. So much of his life had been making sure Peter Parker came first. To believe that he and MJ finally separated on what would have brought on a divorce because he had forgot that… that tore him up inside. That pain intensified when he was alone in the costume.
What did superheroes do when they were feeling blue? They consulted other superheroes. Spidey had a feeling that Bleecker Street was somewhere in this labyrinth. When he finally did find it, it was every bit worth the search. Sanctum Sanctorum appeared as it had throughout his career.
Spidey swung himself on to the rooftop and stared into the large glass window, his eyes looking in through the huge eye.
[ Doctor Strange ]

Albeit accustomed to peculiarities in the mystical realm, and at times the bizarre space-time continuum that embraced most of the universe, Dr. Strange was taking full precaution as much of the time as he could whilst he remained in The City. As it was, no one got within a considerable distance of the home which easily resembled his abode in Greenwich Village, without some magical sensor going off and him knowing about it.
Which was why, even though his body sat slumped in the center of his Sanctum Sanctorum as if in a deep trance-like sleep, his astral appearance materialized just behind the friendly neighborhood webslinger. He was relieved and bothered at the same time. This was the first familiar face he'd come across. What did that mean?
The masked superhero was still standing there looking into the glass. So Strange pretended to do the same, hovering in his purple transparent state.
"Hmm.. Could use with a little dusting up here..."

”DERMATOPHGOIDES PTERONYSSINUS, Doc, THE HUMBLE DUST MITE IS A FOUL CULPRIT FOR ANY ATMOSPHERE. YOU MAY JUST HAVE TO KILL HIM.”
Spidey adjusted on the wall there so it was more comfortable to see his Obi-Wan-esque friend. This Strange might not be from his home and may have never met him. The City was a bit troublesome because of that. If you did meet a familiar face, there was a good chance they didn’t know who you were.
”I USUALLY DON’T’ SUPPORT HOMICIDE (for the kids really) BUT YOU MAY JUST HAVE A CASE HERE.”
He cleared his throat which caused the jaw area of his mask to distort for a moment.
”STEPHEN STRANGE, OF THE DEFENDERS FAME, I HOPE?”

If he had any suspicions that this was not his web-slinging companion from his realm, they were discounted when the masked marauder began to speak. Strange crossed his arms over his chest, just below the glowing amulet, and nodded.
"Recently transported to this peculiar dimension, the parameters of which I have yet to fully work out. I don't suppose you could assist by offering any pertinent information on how you managed to arrive."
This was Strange's peculiar manner of admitting that he was very glad to know that he was no longer alone in this seemingly unmotivated kidnapping of heroes and their counterparts.
He sighed.
"By the hairy hinds of the Hagoroth ... I've never been more relieved to see you, my friend."

“AND WE ALL KNOW HAGOROTH’S HAVE HINDS LIKE SHELLY ON SURVIVOR (when they shave them). I DON’T THINK YOU’RE ALONE WITH THE WHOLE HOW DID I GET HERE BIT. IF I TOLD YOU THAT EVERYTHING WILL BE OKAY, I DON’T THINK THAT’LL COMFORT YOU.”
Spidey’s hand unstuck from the wall. He gestured with it with a clever sway.
“IT’S DAMN GOOD TO SEE YOU, OLD MAN.”

"Your presence, despite childish witticisms and a sustained lack of clear judgment, is a comfort in and of itself. I'd offer to shake your hand but I'd rather not suffer any possibility of getting web on my astral definitions."
That was Dr. Strange's version of a joke. Anyone with a limited knowledge on mystical factions and astral apparitions knew that nothing could stick to them. Transparent. Like a ghost.
Was he getting too technical and metaphorical again? That was how he showed his enthusiasm. By proving that beneath that cool doctor exterior he was a magic nerd.
"How are you holding up?"
He half-expected to hear by Spidey suction cups as an answer.

Spidey had thought about answering with something along that line but Strange wasn’t trying to destroy a building, killing a person or anything unlawful so he didn’t deserve the full sarcasm.
“CAN’T SAY I’M COMFORTABLE BUT NONE OF THIS SURPRISES ME. MAYBE IF IT HAD BEEN STRICTLY BUSINESS, YANNO, JUST HERE AS SPIDEY BUT IT WOULD SEEM THAT MY SUPPORT GROUP HAS FOLLOWED ME HERE. UNLESS EVERY SUPERHERO HAS THAT KOOKY AUNT THAT ONCE FELL IN LOVE WITH ONE OF THEIR ROGUE GALLERY. DOC OCK’S EYES ARE SO DREAMY, APPARENTLY.”
He cleared his throat behind the mask.
“IT’S THE MUTANTS THAT GET THEIR ROCKS OFF IN OTHER PERIODS OF TIME OR OTHER DIMENSIONS. I JUST DON’T HAVE THE GENE TO MAKE ANY OF THIS FEEL NORMAL.”
Narrow shoulders shrugged as lanky fingers repositioned.
“THEY’RE ALWAYS SO DESPERATE FOR ATTENTION ANYHOW. LOOK AT ME, THE WORLD FEARS AND HATES ME, WHINE WHINE. THEY ALL NEED THEIR OWN REALITY SHOW. HOUSE OF X OR SOMETHING.”

It was good to know that even if you found yourself transported to a strange and bizarre realm never before seen that those who followed you from your past still retained their colorful personalities. Strange didn't know what he would have done if he'd ran into an alternate dimension Spiderman that lacked his sarcastic method of dealing with the world around him.
"Could have been worse. There are far more dangerous and frightening dimensions to exist in."
He paused, fingers stroking at his astral beard in contemplation.
"If you'd like to come in for tea and cookies, I could go wake myself up. And you can tell me all about the things you've seen here and the people you've run into. Perhaps it can assist my research in determining the fabric of this place."
Every little bit helped.

How exactly did one explain his experiences here? After all, his meeting with Delirium didn’t even include names being exchanged. He’d met Constantine but that was mostly a cold shoulder from the mage. The only experience that Parker had since his arrival that could be shared had been getting the job as photographer and meeting the Green Goblin again.
“NO, NO, THERE’S NO NEED TO WAKE YOURSELF. BUT WE’RE NOT ALONE FROM BACK HOME. WHEN THERE WAS THAT EARTHQUAKE? THE GREEN GOBLIN WAS WRECKING HAVOC BUT IT DIDN’T FEEL LIKE ANY OF THE GOBLINS I’VE MET. IN FACT, HE TOLD ME THAT I HAD THE WRONG GOBBY WHEN I BEGAN NAMING OFF NAMES TO FIND OUT WHO HE WAS. BESIDE THAT, MET A REPORTER NAMED LOIS LANE BECAUSE THE SPIDEY NEEDS THE MONEY.”
He hadn’t named off Harry but that wouldn’t make sense. Why Harry of all the goblins?

"Hmm ... Peculiar indeed," Strange pondered for a moment, his astral appearance lifting just slightly off the roof. He had to be more careful about his presentation. It was hard not to just let the astral figure do as it pleased since it did not require leverage on the ground.
A bird flew through him. He didn't notice.
"My experiences have been similarly disconcerting. Humanesque manifestations of Death and Delirium. A man who fights demons on a different set of ground rules than myself. And a lunatic sociopath. Very disconcerting. I've practically used up both the book on the Vishanti, and short of actually trying to pay them a visit..."
He shook his head. He needed to think about this from a different perspective.
"Perhaps we are here to place the worlds in balance."
