i_avoidliving All in a day's reap [Narrative / Open -- Police? Bystanders?]
George felt like she'd run in circles. No Rube. No Mason. No Daisy. No Roxy. Nothing. All that George had was a post-it note for her next reap and she only barely made it on time. Apparently at 2453 S Broadway Avenue was the location for the First National City Bank.
She sighed. This wasn't one of those stupid bank robbing heists was it? Actually one of her earliest reaps took place at a bank and that had merely involved someone slipping on a banana peel.
It was 7:25 PM and George might have missed the nervous looking gentleman sitting in his car if it weren't for the little grimling sitting shot gun with him. George swallowed nervously and approached the car, tapping on the window. The soon to be robber, not to mention soon to be dead guy, rolled down his window.
"Hey can you tell me how to get to Reserve Street?"
The soon to be dead robber guy trembled anxiously. The grimling hissed at George. "Uh. I think so... I mean... uh... yes?" He searched for a pen and piece of paper and when he slid her the directions she touched his hand. It sent an unrecognizable tremor through him as she reaped his soul.
What was left to do besides go to the bank and watch it happen?
She calmly went in, found a seat in the reception area and waited. As predicted, G. J. Heffe entered the bank with a loaded weapon. Now, Mr. Heffe was a nice guy. He didn't want to kill anyone. He thought it was clever to fill his pistol with blanks. Maybe it would have been alright...
Except that a few minutes later the police arrived. Heffe had his money, he had his car parked across the street waiting for him, he just had to get to his car. He made it outside onto the street, but apparently police officers don't like it when you shoot even blanks at them, particularly when they don't know they're being shot with blanks. He was quickly gunned down.
George watched the scene happen with her head canted to the side and winced when he met his end.
"That had to suck."
Heffe's soul, unseen and unheard by any living person, now stood next to her, "Hey! It wasn't like I was gunna hurt anyone."
"Uh huh... sure thing..."
George watched the cops outside intently.
"Don't I get to move on or something?"
"Uuuuh huh."
"Aren't you going to pay attention or something?"
"Noooooope."
George continued to watch the scene outside when eventually the soul of dearly departed Heffe moved on.
