Who | Seth and Nikki When | Very Late Sunday Evening Where | Somewhere by the lake What | Undecided Status | Active Rating | PG-13 [ Definitely language ]
Ever since Seth and Charlotte had returned from their honeymoon - what felt like eons ago - Seth hadn't gotten out of the house much. It seemed like his life consisted of work then coming home for dinner and then spending the evening with his wife. Was that a bad life for him? No, definitely not but Seth wasn't used to being in such a routine. He used to be so spontaneous and did things just for the hell of it. The craziness that he had once possessed had definitely diminished a great deal since he had went to rehab for the second time to reclaim his life. Sadly, it wasn't easy to keep himself where he wanted to be, which he had expected, because he still had those nightly cravings on occasion where everything seemed to not matter except the want and need for something that would only cause destruction in his life. It was difficult to overcome the cravings but he had managed so far.
It was Sunday evening when he got the sudden urge to get out of the house for a while and clear his head. So he decided to go take a long walk around the lake and he waited until Charlotte was asleep before he dressed and headed downstairs to get his keys and cell phone. He didn't have a clue how long he'd be out but he figured it would do him some good just getting out of the house. He could have suggested she go with him, but with her pregnancy and all, he figured she wouldn't be in much of a mood to be walking around outside in the middle of the night. So he didn't even bother asking and slipped out of the house and into the night air, his baby blues falling on the lake that was a mere few yards from the front of the house. Letting out a sigh, he locked the door and pulled it closed, the keys twirling around his index finger as he made his way to the edge of the lake.
He shoved his keys in his pocket as he began his trip along the side of the lake, the air a nice temperature, the sky clear. It really was a nice evening and although he shouldn't be out so late, he needed this. He took in a breath of the night air as he walked, each step taking him further away from the house until finally when he turned, the house was no longer in sight. He hoped she didn't wake up and start worrying about him. Pushing that thought out of his head, he continued on around the lake. He had been walking about thirty minutes when he heard loud music blasting from a car up ahead. From the distance, he couldn't tell who it was but there was no houses around where he had found himself and figured no one could really complain about the music. As he neared, he pulled out his pack of Marlboro menthol cigarettes and shook one loose. He lifted the cigarette to his lips, fishing out his lighter and flicking a flame across it to ignite it when his blue eyes finally was able to tell who the car belonged to.
Nikki. Ah shit. She was sprawled out on the hood of her car, the music loud enough to bust eardrums and he wondered how in the hell she was able to stand it that loud. Not that he cared, she was a bitch. Alright, maybe at one point he had liked her but the last interaction he had with her, she was cruel and hateful. But what was he to expect with her? She was always like that, so in all honesty, it didn't really surprise him that much. He knew he needed to just avoid her and go on about his own way but he couldn't resist approaching, his eyebrow rising as he neared her car. He didn't say a word as he took a drag of his cigarette, his lungs filling with the toxic smoke as his eyes roamed over her slowly. He could only smirk as he exhaled the smoke through his nose, "Well... look who it is..." he said in a bit of a loud tone to be heard over the music. She appeared to be oblivious to his presence but that would change in a moment.
