Violet did inhale deeply, and waited to answer him, but not for the reasons he was asking her to do so. She had succeeded in drawing blood, and the pain of it distracted her just long enough from her melodramatic tirade to actually listen to what he was saying, instead of just waiting for his lips to stop moving so that she could yell at him some more for still being alive. More to the point, she didn't even want to think about what he was implying by asking her that question. As far as she was concerned, to move on was to forget about Derek and the life they had planned together.
"What's it to you if I do?" she shot back, once the ten seconds were up, and then realized that she didn't want to hear the answer. This argument was exhausting her, and she wanted this man out of her house and out of her life for good. "You know what? I don't even care. Just get the fuck out."
