Wendy enjoyed this time of year. It was still cold but with the time change, she could get out and walk Spock without having to wander around in the dark. He'd been waiting for her when she got home, eager as always to go out with her. When she'd bought the house, one of the first things she'd done was install a doggie door in the utility room so that he could come and go during the day but he always seemed to enjoy their time together in the evenings. Wendy certainly did.
They were headed around the lake, Spock stopping from time to time to sniff something or to make use of a convenient tree, Wendy following along behind him with leash in hand. It was a nice evening and she was enjoying the walk. It was perfect for thinking but for once, she had nothing major on her mind and it was a nice feeling. Wendy's head was usually full of a million things but tonight she was just simply living and she liked that. Her solitude was interrupted by someone else though but she couldn't make out who the figure was coming toward her as she was facing the setting sun. "Hello?" she called, hoping that she would recognize the voice.
