WHO: Wendy and Frannie WHAT: Ultrasound and check-up WHERE: The Lake Flannery Clinic WHEN: Monday morning RATING/STATUS: PG-13 (With Adult Content)/Complete
Frannie was not in a good mood that morning. When was she in a good mood? It was her eighth week of pregnancy, and she had racked up quite a bit of symptoms in that time. In addition to the ever-present feeling of nausea, she also had cravings for blueberries, uncontrollable gas, and she felt as though she was as big as an elephant. She would have given her left foot to have PMS again. Even after eight weeks, she still felt disengaged from it all. Seth said that he was excited. That he wanted a child. That he was so happy that she was going to give him one. But for her, it felt like nothing. She felt this big, empty space where her life used to be and nothing for her future. She had never wanted a child. She had taken the Morning-After Pill after her assault and avoided that whole situation, and she had thought she was free and clear. Now, here she was ten years later, pregnant and waiting for an ultrasound at the Lake Flannery Clinic.
She let out a loud sigh just as the doctor finally walked in. "Let's get this thing over with," Frannie said.
