Samantha gave the other woman a blank look. To be honest, Samantha kept to herself usually. It was just recently that she had made any worthwhile acquaintances in town. She hadn't heard anything about Teresa and litigation, and she was curious, now that it was brought up, but she didn't want to pry. It would be rude, she figured. Her gaze went back to the stack of books and she gathered them, returned them to the display table and made a show of dusting off her hands. "No harm, no foul," she said dismissively, shaking her head in response to Teresa's questions.
She gently reached over and set her fingertips against Teresa's arm. "Let me check on that book for you? I'll be back in a flash. Please don't destroy anything else." Samantha added a good-natured wink before she scurried off to the back room.
