Got a little insight to everything that's happening Who: Emilia and Kaia Where: Random Elysia inn When: Afternoon
Never before had Emilia gone through a procession like the one that the Empyreans had laid out to welcome her sister and never again did she think that she wanted to. It made her feel as though there were eyes watching her - even though she was fully aware that no, they really weren't. They were welcoming Arwen, the Mouth of the Creator, not the rest of the people who had decided to attach themselves to her for this trip. The children had thought that it was the best thing in the world. Well, with the exception of Rose who had been firmly stuck to the side of either her aunt Aoife or Emilia for the entire ride. Arriving at the inn had likely been more of a relief for her than any of the others and she had been all too happy to claim a room to share with Lily and Brenna. Emlan had thought for a moment he was going to be left out but the adjoining room had gone to him and Owen. Emilia wouldn't be surprised at all if during the following mornings she found all five of them shoved into the same bed. Which could actually be a good thing. Especially if Lily could be convinced that it was better for her overall if she did remain in a bed of her own, or at least stay in the same room she had begun in instead of sneaking off to join her mother. Because Emilia had chosen a room a fair bit from the children's to share with Nysa. Why shouldn't she? Arwen had been generous enough to buy the inn out for the duration of their stay and she did not see why they shouldn't all take every advantage of it. Besides that, there was little point to sleeping in a separate room. Just the thought made her stomach give a little twist that had her placing her hand over it. Such an odd feeling to have when this day had been, for her at least, wonderful.
And all she wanted was for her sisters to feel the same thing that she was. Which was precisely why she had left the inn after arrangements had been made to see what the surrounding area was like. That was a rarity in and of itself - Emilia never ventured into strange places on her own, most especially not when she had Nysa right there along with her children - but it was made even stranger when she began to stop and peer into the dining rooms of inns. Most of them seemed to be sparsely populated at this time of day and the first few that she saw with people inside were the sort that she didn't wish to enter. Men who were already passed out drunk or well on their way to it were not the sort that she wanted to have anywhere near either of her sisters. A little voice inside, the same one that always pointed out when she was doing something wrong, wondered at why she was even taking this upon herself when it was quite obvious that she didn't know what on earth she was doing, but it was quickly smothered. Not because she'd thought of a good reason for her actions but rather because a strand of music had caught her attention and she had drifted to the other side of the road to peer in through the open door of a tavern that she otherwise would have passed by.
Inside a man was playing away quite merrily but he earned only a cursory glance. A common bard wasn't good enough for them either. But despite her initial dismissal of him, Emilia found her eyes drifting to the woman who was dancing. It took a moment before she realized that she was staring and more than that, that her mouth had gone dry. Snapping it closed and hoping that no one had been looking at her - doubting that they had with the way that woman was moving - Emilia slipped the rest of the way into the tavern and found an unoccupied table to settle herself in. Ordering something cold, no she didn't care what, Emilia steeped her fingers and rested her chin atop them while she watched the woman continue to dance. It was mesmerizing in a way she hadn't seen and she couldn't help but wonder if Nysa could move like that - a thought that instantly called a blush to her cheeks and she was grateful for the return of the barmaid. Not so grateful when she took a drink and found that she'd been brought ale. "Do you not have wine?" The girl blinked at her. "Please, something that is not this." Then she was gone again and Emilia turned her attention back to the dancing woman with skin darker than any others she'd known, just in time to catch a flash of movement. What... had she just stolen that man's purse? That explains why she's moving like that, none of them are paying attention to anything else!
Emilia still felt like she needed to be trying to do something to help her sisters and their situations, if indeed they wanted help, but she couldn't seem to make herself move. Well... what about Duncan? Hm, there was a thought, what about Duncan indeed. There were women that could be paid for that sort of thing, were there not? Women like that? Gears started to turn and Emilia bit at the tip of one of her fingers as she started to wonder, quite unaware that she was still staring at the dancing woman.
