Who: Cormac and Aria When: Late afternoon Where: Somewhere in the city
In a way, Aria was grateful that the experience with animals had hit someone she knew first. She'd spent a long time working with Calista to calm her down, and when going to Althea for advice, she'd been told the occurrence was rather common. Divine Mother Althea had experienced it herself when a bird spoke to her, and so Aria had been prepared for her own experience. When her horse spoke with her, she did not immediately think she was going mad again. That was a blessing, but perhaps the only silver lining. The Divine Mother was troubled. She had never heard of any sort of event happening to all the gifted people of the world. Aria had readily agreed to head into the city and investigate.
She had headed into one of the busiest sections of the marketplace and found a bench to sit and observe. Or perhaps more importantly, listen. Rarely did Aria ever use Arcana spells to read someone's mind, as it always struck her as a horrible breach of privacy. Today it felt justified. She knew well that there were more gifted sorcerers and wizards out there that anyone knew about, and she wanted to see how many people were thinking about conversations with animals. Or whether or not they were going mad. Perhaps, if it came to it, she could make up for the invasion of privacy with some comforting words. So she sat calmly, peacefully, as though she were simply enjoying the bustle of life. She gave off no apparent sign that she was practicing magic. This gift was as natural to her as breathing now.
