Locan was doing his best not to conspicuously appear as if he were trying to escape court, but the almost paranoid glances he was tossing over his shoulder were likely not doing him any favors. He nearly ran into a servant as he made his way out onto the castle grounds, apologizing profusely, much to the apparent surprise of the middle-aged woman who smiled and curtsied after her initial shock, though his attention was already aimed at the doorway he'd just left behind. No sign of any of the three young noblewomen who had been stalking him all afternoon, for now.
Admittedly, this wasn't as weird as the utter onslaught of eagerly available women of high birth who'd thrown themselves at him a few days prior, but as strange and unsettling as it was, it had been easy to escape. This afternoon's attack felt almost coordinated. It had started out innocently enough, with each woman managing to find a way to shove themselves into his line of vision as often as possible, but had steadily escalated into nearly every interaction he had with anyone else at court being interrupted by one of them, usually with heavy breasts or other curvy bits of anatomy pressing into his person. He wouldn't have minded it so much if it all hadn't felt so desperate, and hadn't constantly kept him from any of the company he would have actually liked to have a conversation with. It didn't matter where he ended up in the castle, one of them managed to find him, even when he'd wandered off to relieve himself not long ago. His centuries-long familiarity with the castle had allowed him to escape more often than not, but there was no point in remaining if he couldn't freely wander through the more entertaining portions of court. He supposed he could have asked for the women to be removed, he had the standing for that sort of thing, but it seemed a little harsh for some desperate flirting-bordering-on-stalking, particularly considering he hadn't planned to stay much longer anyway. Oddly enough, he couldn't even place which houses the women had come from, but speculated they were all likely siblings, and probably under orders from some relative. At any rate, it had gotten so overbearing that he really just wanted a clean escape without one of them trying to sneak into his carriage. Invisibility was an option, but it always felt a little too risky being on castle grounds. He'd have to figure out what to do the old fashioned way. Which, admittedly, sounded more fun too.
He caught a glimpse of movement, feminine movement, in his peripheral vision just before his focus returned to the front, stiffening and freezing almost instinctively, his eyes wide as if he'd just gotten caught doing something nefarious. It took a second for him to recognize the figure, and his genuinely delighted smile was broad as his entire body sagged with relief. He managed to gracefully morph the movement into a courteous bow for his second favorite member of the current royal family. "Why, hello, your highness. You're looking stylishly rugged this evening," his voice managed to keep his smooth good-humor, though he kept his volume low so as not to draw too much attention to his position, lest any of trio be within earshot.
