"I have seen worse," Gia assured, seeing the wryness of that smile. "There is a family in Avalon who have a spider for their sigil." A delicate shudder ran through her body at the memory of it. She could see their reasoning, especially as it matched the words, but she still couldn't imagine being proud of having that on clothes or banners or any of that. The mockingbird of Ridell seemed so much more appealing after learning of things like that. "I would say lay stronger claim to your mother's sigil if you prefer it, for that is as much yours as the ferret, is it not?" Gia snagged her cup of tea, she had deliberately ignored the feeble protests of the servant who had brought it about having it there with all the books, and took a sip as she waited to see if Daphina would join her.
I do believe I flustered her. Gia was almost certain what had caused it, too. A man may have been flustered in the same way, but other ladies usually were not unless they had certain tendencies that Gia completely approved of. She hoped that little flash was right, and that she'd managed to fluster Daphina as she had Rune, the only difference being that this was intentional. "That is much better," Gia confirmed as Daphina took a seat, propping one elbow on the table so that she could rest her chin in her hand. "Your niece... your brother's child?" Gia didn't think she'd heard of Janna having a child. In fact, she thought she'd heard a rumor that Janna was incapable of having children. "I am sure she is a more delightful child than my nephew. He is a teenager and sure that he knows all that there is to know in the world." He was her irritation. At the idea of Sir Daemyn -- she had heard of him -- meeting Lady Delyth, Gia gave a delighted laugh. "That is something I would very much like to see, I think. Should you ever see it happening, be sure to tell me." She took another sip of her tea. "Would you care for a drink? They brought me an extra cup in case I had company." Her eyes twinkled. "I did not suspect I would and I am so rarely pleased when I am wrong."
