Who: Aria and OPEN!
When: Late morning
Where: Clearing near the king's forest, post-hunt picnic
Aria's first few days in Arcadie had been... interesting, to say the least. Though feeling cautiously optimistic upon arrival, waking the next day to those dolls had been odd. Finding the dolls wherever she went had been downright disturbing. The sight of them had filled her with a sense of dread she couldn't understand, and then Kondi had come alive in the back of Aria's mind. You're going mad, again, Kondi had taunted in a tone of delight. Dolls can't follow you, Aria. Oh, dear. How embarrassing. Aria had managed to ignore Kondi, for the most part. It certainly helped that the dolls were real. Other people could see them, too. So she'd stuffed them into a pocket, and at Althea's advice, burned them before bed. They had not yet made a reappearance. She had no answer as to why they had been put in her room and then in her path through-out the day, but any answer she came to she disliked. But she managed not to let the worry consume her, and each day it was a little easier. She was cautious, as always, but not consumed.
Unfortunately, since Kondi's reawakening she had not settled down. She was of no threat to anyone, just a voice in the back of Aria's head. She could deal with that - and had, for some years - but it was only a matter of time before she wouldn't be able to tune Kondi's voice out at all. And when that time came, she'd have to let her out. Aria still dreaded the day when she would have to do that in Kingswood, despite her trust in Althea.
It had been the Divine Mother that had insisted Aria go on the hunt. "You will enjoy it," she had said. "Some fresh air and activity will do you well. Try and make some friends. Keep your ears open. I'll never let it be said that I employ spies, but there's no harm in my own attendants reporting gossip back to me." Aria had gone with only a few objections. Despite feeling terribly out of place, Althea had been right - she did enjoy herself.
When the hunt was at its end Aria returned to the clearing, leaving her horse in a servant's care before finding a plump white cushion to sit on. She was immediately offered a cup of wine, which she took, and later a small plate of food. Aria was a bit away from the crowd, but content to simply sit and refresh herself, and above all, watch and listen.
