Loki used his bauble wish in December [2011] on a very isolated retreat. It is a small cabin, located in the mountains of Iceland.
Rooms: First Floor
- entry / living room / kitchen/dining area - two bedrooms - bathroom
Rooms: Upstairs
- attic

The downstairs rooms are all comfortably furnished, luxurious without being terribly ‘fancy’. There is a reliable supply of food, mostly non-perishables, in the kitchen. The attic is Loki’s library / workshop / hideaway of sorts, and is even more magic’d up and altered than the rest of the place. If you can get in, a) you probably can only see half of what’s really there, and b) he’s letting you in. People cannot simply break in or wander in. Even teleportation will bring people only as far as just outside the door, and anyone attempting to override the magic on the entryway will find themselves in some empty black pocket of reality until Loki shows up (unless they know exactly what spells are in place and how to override them safely, which is highly unlikely) - which will probably be soon, as he has alert-spells that will let him know the second something happens there.
Additionally, Loki has put various enchantments on the entire location, making it less obvious to anyone who does not already know it’s there, and preventing either evil or ordinary trespassers from being able to enter if they have negative intentions.
As an additional precaution, when the house is 'locked down' (via magic~), only those with 'keys' can get in. These 'keys' are actually strings of runes Loki created, which are specifically bonded to their owners through their blood - no one else can operate them, and the key expires if the bond is broken (either by the owner's death or being pulled through the seal; Loki could, in theory, break the bond, himself, but he has little/no reason to do so).
The current keys are tied to Loki himself, Frigga, Thor, and Emma. Keys are deactivated if the holder is taken through the seal.
Each of the keys are slightly different. They all carry base protections (against harm, against being noticed by the wrong people, etc etc) which are just like better odds than normal (in other words, they are not 100% guarantees of safety by any means). There are various alternate enchantments on individual ones as Loki sees fit.
Keys will only work as long as the holder is 'friendly' (aka, Loki approves of their presence).
In appearance, the strands of runes are simple enough - they are small stone beads strung together, each with a rune carved into them and then the rune is painted over in red (fun fact: that isn’t just ordinary red paint; yay Loki!blood). There are eight runes in total, with one smaller - blank - spacer-stone; the first seven spell out the word 'welcome', followed by the spacer, and then the first letter of the owner's name. When he gave them each their keys, he had them prick their finger and put blood on their name-stone, following which he did one final spell which was to seal the ownership (i.e. so if someone tries to override the blood-bonding, they can’t).
- A 'guest key' can be made, if needed. The guest version would work only once, and only to the house - a return trip to the complex would have to be assisted, or travel the traditional way. Friendly-types-only spells on the property ensure that strangers and/or enemies will still be unable to use this key to their advantage. Once the single-use spell is activated, the key is rendered useless.
- The teleportation spell only works a certain way.
* The user can be transported instantly to Loki's cabin/retreat in Iceland (into the entry/living area) - once every 24 hours. * The user can be transported instantly to the apartment complex (outside, near the front entry) - once every 24 hours. ** The two spells can be used once each in a 24 hour period, but not within 12 hours of each other.
* A person using a blood-bound 'key' can bring ONE person with them when they activate the spell. They must be touching (holding hands, a hand on the shoulder, etc.), and it must be a willing transport on both sides (i.e. bringing someone in while under duress is not going to work; the spell would simply ignore the unfamiliar person and bring the owner of the key to safety). Unfortunately this means unconscious people cannot be transported, as they do not qualify as 'willing' - the exception to this being that the unconscious person is one of the other key-holders, who will be recognized. ** Guest 'keys' can only bring one person, period. No guests-of-guests will be able to come.
