Filtered against Harley Quinn.
You ever tell someone off and find yourself feeling not even the tiniest bit satisfied by it even though you know you should?

I kinda feel itchy instead.

No.

I honestly feel satisfied when I do that. Because I know I'm right and they're wrong

Who said anything about being wrong?

So you went on a rant and now you're having feelings about it? And don't know what to do about having feelings.

Sounds like your heart wasn't in it? Or it was like kicking a puppy.

I think tail between legs would be an accurate description regarding the person who took the heat.

I never did like kicking puppies. Even the ones with particularly pointy and deadly teeth.

That ichy feeling is called guilt. I had it too after I accidentally went too far with something. But in my defense I had legit mental issues.

So basically you have to ask yourself is this just you making yourself feel better by lashing out at the pointy teethed puppy cause if so, it tends not to work.

I'm Mona bt dubs

Don't we all?

Lashing out, setting boundaries, being somewhat reasonable. Believe it or not, one might say that the entire exchange was a big step for me.

It'd be easier if I didn't take it.

Jason.

Well no, that's why there are sociopaths. Feeling guilt I guess, is what makes the difference.

So why do you feel bad? If you say you're being reasonable.

Good point.

Like I said: it wasn't too far from kicking a puppy. I expected more fight out of this person. More quips. Something. They just took it.

I make them on occasion.

Maybe their heart wasn't in the fight? Or maybe they thought you deserved to say it?

More like they're screwing with me. That'd be more believable.

It could be.

So be guarded sure. But obviously you feel bad on some level over all of this or you wouldn't be asking us.

What answer did you want?

If I knew which answer I wanted, I probably wouldn't be poking around here. Itchy feelings and all.

Well that was kind of my point.

You don't need to figure it out right away. You can cope with the itchy for a little bit?

My vote is more in the corner of not having to cope with anything at all regarding this person, but eh. It's as good as it's gonna get, I guess.

They definitely deserved it.

I shouldn't even be dwelling on it. And yet.

That feeling. That means that you're a good person. That you feel guilty about something like that.

Wait until someone else from my world pops by. Run that "Jason Todd is a good person" thing by them. See how far it goes.

No one's perfect. I've been here long enough for my view on the world to be a bit different than at home.

Here, we're only judged by what we do here. It's a second chance. So, if they turn up and don't like it. They can jump of a bridge.

I've had similar feelings when trying to teach students who do not see the value of it or their potential. It can feel unsatisfying and frustrating at times.

Then on the other hand when students listen and learn it can be terribly rewarding.

At least you have a shot at getting something out of your lectures. I'm not so sure how far this whole thing is going to go for me.

Sounds quite serious. Obviously, it is none of my business, but if you did want to talk, I have been told on occasions, I am a good listener.

Prior to doing teaching I was a diplomat so when I think back to those days, I understand exactly where you are coming from. I had several council meetings that left me feeling that way.

Vent to Princess Leia? Ah, what the hell.

This person is from my world. We've got history. She went around on murder and crime sprees with her boyfriend. Then? Her boyfriend decided to kill me. Now she wants us to chat, maybe braid each others hair, have a sleepover - you know, become besties. You can see why I might get a little cranky, I'm sure.

Can't say I've got much experience with council meetings, but I doubt many of them would've ended all that peacefully. People? They tend to suck.

A dysfunctional relationship, its not like I know anything about those, my family for a start.

Sounds like a challenge - also like this person might want to talk some form of forgiveness? I can totally understand your conflict of how to interact. You both might need some time to adjust. I doubt you were both expecting to be in this situation.

hang on your dead? or not anymore come back to life? I might need to get my head around this

I have a fair amount of stories regarding some interesting council meetings, I used to enjoy them when they were productive.

That's the card she was playing. But with her rep? I don't buy it. Plus, Harley is certified crazy. This could all be some practical joke she twisted up in her head to make the time go by while she's here.

Used to. So what happened?

I would agree in exercising caution with this person. Who knows what her real agenda could be. There are plenty of people here fromna lot of different worlds you can surround yourself with and we are all here by the same cause - remember that.

The majority of the meetings I attended as a diplomat were as part of the galatic empire. My father (adopted father at least) briefed me well on what the senate used to be like. A large room with representatives from all systems.

As time went on the council meetings quickly turned from open discussion to a dictatorship, where fear ruled. That's when I started helping the rebellion.

I could handle her grade of personality if she were any other person that crawled out of the underside of Gotham. But Harley? She comes with a lot of memories. None of them are good.

It's a pain in the ass.

Can you not just ignore her and pretend like she's not here?

I think it depends on how you feel about the person you told off, what it was about and if you want things to be better between you two.
