This is going to be entirely unhelpful, but I dunno how to explain it. She didn't push herself onto the family exactly, but she was persistent, balance is apparently key or something. I mean, I hated her at the start but somewhere along the way she managed to worm her way in. The even more unhelpful answer, of course, is time. Takes time to adjust to weird things that probably shouldn't be happening but are anyway.
