ooc: In case you were wondering if you're a friend of Doreah's, she pretty much sent the invitation out to everyone who has ever been kind to her, including Peeta and Jenny as well. And Jaime. She has to be civil with him now.

Being the end of the week, I say it's the perfect time for us to get together. Food, drinks, and conversation. What do you say?

I...say I hardly expected an invitation of that nature from you.

But I'd be pleased to attend

Given the recent turn of events I thought that it seemed appropriate. Also, if Isabela comes with us then I'm sure she'd love to see you there.

Don't feel obliged to invite me if you do not wish to.

I understand your loyalties back home have probably decided your opinion of me despite anything I might say

It isn't obligation. It's just that I had an opinion of you before I was even brought to this place - one based on the stories I'd heard - and that I'm using this as my chance to form an opinion of my own.

Do you believe in oaths?

Lets start there for forming opinions

I do, but it's never that simple. There's usually someone out there who sees it as their duty to break an oath, whether it be for good or bad reasons. I do see the grey areas in humanity. It's rarely black or white.

And tell me this.

If you've sworn in the very same oath to defend the king and defend his people.

What do you do when he starts to destroy them?

This is why I am a whore and not a knight, Ser. I would never be able to decide on the proper course of action.

There's no hard and fast rule. You follow what you feel is the only course. Even if you are reviled for it.

To be honest, none of the others would have taken the initiative.

Remarkably well, all things considered. I seem to be very resilient physically. I still get the chills thinking about that crypt, though.

Only one that I remember, but it woke me up and I was unable to fall asleep again that night. Have you spoken to anyone else about these nightmares?

Is now the time? I don't want to bring you down when you're trying to be in a good mood or at least put on the smile for the crowds...and I know how that feels, too; to smile when your heart is breaking and your hope is gone.

The nightmares were worse when we were still in there. I would wake up and not be able to tell if I was still dreaming or whether I hadn't been dreaming at all and that I had died and that was it; all there was was blackness. But then you or Jenny would make a sound and I'd know I was still alive and it would start again the next time I fell asleep.

They're the same now, the nightmares. That I'm still in there and that I'll never get out. That I'll die there alone and afraid like the coward I am and I'll never see Katniss again...or my family, or home. And then I wake up and I'm here, and I'll still never see my family again and I'm not speaking to Katniss right n and it just...feels suffocating. Does that make sense?

It does make sense. Everything about that place was suffocating. Of course thinking of it would bring on the same emotions. It's awful that you're still plagued with these nightmares. I didn't really have any dreams while trapped, though it was still unsettling. I lost time. One moment I would be awake, aware that I was in the crypt with you and Jenny, and then next I would just... Slip into blackness, I guess. It's only now that I'm in my own bed that I have the nightmares.

I've done some looking into things, though. I've heard that it might help to think of a more peaceful or happy time. The trouble I have with that, though, is that it's difficult to push certain thoughts out of my mind.

Katniss and I used to sleep in the same bed when we had nightmares about the Games. We got into a fight, sort of...I can't go to her. It's harder, now, not having that. To deal with it, I mean. How do you deal with it?

I can't remember anything peaceful or happy that lasted more than a day or two...I don't know if that will work for me...

I've heard about the Games. You're both admirable individuals for surviving all of that together. If you don't mind me asking, why did you get into a fight?

I can understand that. I haven't had much serenity in my life, either. There are videos to watch online, though, that help a person relax. This one, for example, with the beach and the sound of the waves, is one of my favorites. - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zh-klfBJlHc

Thank you. I don't know how admirable we ended up being, in the end. It's a long story, really.

No, no, not beaches, no beaches. I can't do beaches. Do they have anything else?

Bad experience on a beach? Sorry, nevermind. I don't mean to cause you to revisit more unpleasant memories.

Well, there's this one with thunder and rain. http://youtu.be/WvRv-243Cmk Rain can be very relaxing.
