Covered the hospital's children ward celebration today. It's something they do once a month to try and lift the spirits of all the kids in there that are living in the hospital for weeks at time. This time they had a mini indoor carnival. Sort of. That was the point of it.

I do not think I've ever seen my mother cry this much. This is why I don't like letting her come along when I go to my job.

That and she's constantly all, "Lois, are you sure you should be going into that alley to talk to that guy? Is that source even reliable? I don't think you should be investigating murders. Why can't you stick to happy news? How do you even run in those heels? He had a gun!!!"

Hey, guys! It's been a while since I told everyone and there have been new arrivals, so I thought I'd make another announcement. I have a garden on the roof of the apartment complex. Among other plants, I'm growing verbena also known as vervain. If you ever need any, feel free to go up there and collect as much as you need.

I also wanted to know if there's anyone around here who might be interested in helping me construct a small greenhouse for the colder months so the plants don't die off in the winter. Any takers?
