WHO: Kira and Jacen Solo WHEN: Around 8 AM WHERE: The pool! WHAT: Just sitting there. Status: OPEN RATING: TBD!
She spent a lot of her time her first go around in this place either in her rooms or out of the apartments. More of the first than the second. It became her own little home away from home. Literally. It'd been just like her place in the underworld. Except without the rocks, the dank, and the irritating demons. Unless one counted Ruby. Who Kira actually found herself liking despite herself. However, the room was mostly kept dark. People only visited her when they needed something. And her interaction with the human world was minimum.
The times that she went out. It was at night. Because somehow it seemed appropriate. Kira didn't feel right interacting with humans, even though a part of her greatly longed to. She felt she was infringing on something. Which was why she didn't travel during the day. Which was why she didn't wear their clothing. She certainly didn't eat their food. Or why she hadn't gotten that dog she had always longed for. Or well, since she'd learned what a Shar Pei was.
There had been that ache that she was missing out on something but it was something that she was used to. Passing by unseen and yet always suspected was like wearing an old hat to her. She didn't belong in the human world but she wanted no part of the demon. Well, unless it had something to do with allowing her to live longer.
Speaking of living longer. She'd died. She'd died and there were only two places to go when the seals pulled her back. Before death and after. It was interesting. She'd never been much of a fighter but she was great at figuring out ways to keep herself alive. She had had to put all of that to very good use in the demonic wasteland. It was interesting. She wondered if half-demons knew that that horrific place was where they were headed. She wanted if they knew that a wasteland would be all that they would get when they died. And why aspire to reach that? Why look for ways to become a full demon to make access to it after death all the more easier? She had never understood why she, a full demon, would do anything to get even the tiniest piece of the Earth that they wanted to bring misery too. Then again she had always been a strange one.
Which was likely why she had hugged the brick wall she had appeared next to when she had been pulled from the wasteland and back to this version of Earth. Which was why she was looking forward to try. You didn't have to tell her three times. She might not have gotten the humanity she had gone looking for but she had most certainly gotten some chance at life. While you couldn't pay her to get any closer to the humans than she already was-because it made looking out for one's own skin trickier-and while she would never feel as if she had a right to try and belong ... She would enjoy some of the littler, simpler things more.
Which was why she was sitting by the pool, skirt bunched up against her thighs, feet swinging inside of the water and fingers simply threading it through them. Kira wished that she could feel it. Feel more of it. But she couldn't. Not the same way a person could. A sensory depleted toad could feel more of it than she could. However, she was enjoying what she could get of it.
Even if it was all the way at the very shallow end.
