Tim wasn't very good at gift giving. He never had been, even when his parents were alive it was a thing that he for one thought he failed at hardcore. People seemed to like the things he came up with because he made most of them, and Tim was very good at creating the most unique things-but he put so much pressure on himself not to let anyone down that it turned even the simplest gesture into a difficult decision. Part of his weakness, fortunately there weren't many gift giving events he actually celebrated. Birthdays were among the few. Most holidays were out since his parents died he hadn't really felt up to celebrating them. That meant Birthdays had to be special. So he was taking extra care in Kara's.
He almost didn't hear the knock and wouldn't have if not for the break in a song. Police & Thieves by the Clash. But there it was and he stood, brushing silver shavings off his hands and pulling open the door. "Hey. Come on in. " His place was pretty clean for a seventeen year old living on their own, it was obvious it wasn't the first time he'd had to. He wasn't throwing things around just because Alfred wasn't there to get on his case about it. He didn't have dishes over flowing in the sink. Nothing. Not that he really had much when he arrived anyway except a Robin suit, his motorcycle, and a few necessities in a backpack. But he had picked up a few things inbetween thanks to helping Oliver out. He had a game system, and television, a red laptop open on the counter. But his place was more like a workshop then a livable area. Several manila folders stacked on his desk, different books he'd been given by Romona revealing advanced genetics and even books of Quantum Mechanics left open beside the laptop. Even it was specialized. The laptop was custom built and red of coarse. On the front of it was a golden R symbol. "It's over here."
He lead Clark toward his work desk which was just on the other side of the livingroom in his bedroom which was also clean. He didn't spend very much time in it after all. There was a duffel bag by the door filled with his weapons and other items infront of the door that Tim nudged aside with a foot and pushed the door open. "I'm not exactly a jewelry smith, but it'll work as a weapon in a pinch too." The small shield of el was barely as big as his palm, and cut in ways that would make it a decent throwing star. But it wasn't only that, it was elegant and tiny. A perfect fit for a necklace, or charm bracelet, whichever Kara decided was more her style.
