It irritated him that the only reason he wanted to go out was because he felt cramped indoors. It was kind of pathetic. Virgil used to love being Static. Maybe it should have been a wake up call. But he was to upset to see it.
It only took Virgil three minutes once Richie left to change, but then his gear wasn't nearly as complicated. And he had been doing it quite a bit longer than Richie. At least a year before his friend got his powers. Virgil was adjusting his trench coat when Richie came out and pulling out the tiny flat cylinder flying disk that Richie had built him when he first started showing signs of Super Brainism.
"It's weird, but you'll get used to it. " Virgil looked back into the bedroom and frowned. He'd been so used to going on patrol with Bart that he couldn't help but make sure he was behind him. Which of coarse he wasn't, and that made him scowl. His eyes closed and with little warning Virgil opened them and immediately a spark of electricity powered the disk and he jumped on. You're better just forgetting. He reprimanded himself and looked down at the disk as it hovered in the air. "Lets get out of here." Maybe flying would make him feel better. Staying inside definitely wouldn't.
