Sam looked up, eyes finding the body that was moving quickly through the crowd ahead. The only reason that Sam bothered to keep his gaze on the woman rather than assume that she was directing herself at another person behind him was the fact that she looked so painfully familiar. So much that Sam had to literally stop in his tracks. Immediately, the memory of Lilith stand over Dean's body and grinning pleasurably bolted through his mind. His shoulders stiffened and, without really thinking about, Sam's hands curled into tight fists at his sides. That wasn't Lilith. It couldn't have been Lilith. Nor was it Ruby, Sam knew that much for without question. So what gave? Who - oh.
She was one of the people who had been brought over. The one who had the unfortunate luck of looking like the body that Ruby and Lilith had been juggling around a few years before. His body still held that cautious and unpleasant stance as she drew nearer, but Sam didn't lash out at her or anything crazy like that. Instead, he drew in a deep, calming breath and slid his hands into the pockets of his dark jacket.
"No, I'm not Danny." Sam cleared his throat. He suddenly felt terribly awkward and uncomfortable. Too bad there was nothing that he could do about it without offending the woman in front of him. "It's Sam. And you're - I've talked to you before. I remember." Over the internet. This was definitely the first time it had happened in person. It was nowhere near her fault, but a punch in the gut like this one would have been impossible to forget.
