Who: Bart and Virgil!
What: DOING CUTE THINGS.
When: Saturday night.
Where:in the city!
Warnings: cute fluffy things? Be prepared for cavities.

Out! They were doing it. Being out like almost a date. Thats what people called them right? Virgil didn't have everything (or anything for that matter) planned to a tee, but it didn't matter because they'd find things. He liked being spontaneous, things just seemed more fun that way and adventurous. They were capable of it before he announced his love for Bart, and hopefully they were still capable afterward. Normally post love declarations were awkward and full of tension, but with Bart it just felt comfortable and right. He didn't want to play the avoiding game, or any games for that matter. He wanted to be closer to him now more than ever. Even after his system had burned out most of the kryptonite. Give it another day and it would almost guaranteed to be gone. And Bart had his powers back too, so it was one less thing to worry about for both of them. Virgil was able to hold a charge, Bart could run again. Life was good. That called for a celebration, he was pent up and tired of being indoors. So he tugged on Bart's sleeve and took his hand as they headed into the city and he lead him down the side walk infront of lit up store fronts. "Come on! " He pouted puppyishly at him over his shoulder. He didn't quite have a clue where too, but as long as it was away from the complex it was a good thing, and meant he wanted to get there even faster.

They had a night to themselves and it was about time. Chloe was around the apartment alot and it was a small place, so it really felt cramped at times. Virgil was still upset with her for various reasons, so to be free was invigorating even if it was just for a few hours. It was night time and the city was buzzing with activity, which in turn caused Virgil to brighten with excitement and electricity no pun intended. There was a grin on his face the entire day anticipating the night. And even now that it came to be, he was a hyper ball of energy.

Bart’s good mood returned fully with the reintroduction of his speed. Before that it had tried to, slowly but surely, get there with Virgil’s presence helping out the attempt. Once he was sure (or as sure as he could be) that he wasn’t going to forget about him after the kryptonite wore off, or decide that he didn’t mean what he’d said, he was much more eager to accept how things had turned out. His gestures took back the affection that they usually held and even though he wasn’t completely settled, even though his heart sometimes beat too hard and too fast within his chest when Virgil got close to him, he was welcoming. Bart willingly sat close to him again. He put his arm around him and he gave up pouting in the living room with a mute television turned on. The second he could run, he stopped sulking altogether.

He let himself be tugged out the door and into the halls, through the apartment building and into the lit up streets. Following only a short way behind Virgil (he wasn’t going to be too far away being that he was currently attached), Bart moved at a normal pace and wasn’t once upset about it. “You’re gonna pull my arm off.” His response to his pouting was light, amused and smirking. “You should try to be more delicate with your anticipation.”

Virgil turned around to give Bart an indignant haughty little stare, though he wasn't really upset, and it turned out being more adorably demanding than anything, he sulked in a way that could get him world peace if used on the right person. His brown eyes locked on Bart's. "We're finally out of that place and all you wanna do is walk?" He had a little bit of money incase they found something interesting to spend it on, but that wasn't really the reason for doing things. Virgil wasn't impressed by material items when it came to friendships, relationships, or otherwise. He just wanted to be beside the person of interest until they were sick of him. Though he'd always been lucky with the people he found, none of them ever really got tired of him, and so he milked it. Which was exactly what he was going to do with Bart. If Bart ever did get sick of him it would hurt to much, so part of him wanted to be cautious, but that wasn't how Virgil was wired. He was optimistic and warm. There was no part of him that would allow for a cold distance.

"I am not." Finally he stopped pulling at him a little and just decided that they were far enough away where he could walk by his side instead. He felt butterflies around Bart, a warm fluttery feeling whenever their hands met like they were now, and still got terribly flushed whenever Bart put his arm around him, every little thing he did had Virgil's attention. Bart infatuated him, more than that really. He wanted to know everything there was to know about him. His friends, his favorite foods, there was no end to Virgils curiosity even as the city hummed with life around them. "I'll try, but no promises. " He mused light heartedly and decided it was time to stop being a magpie for ten seconds with an attention span of a skittle. "I thought Kansas was scary..but it isn't so bad. Look." There weren't demons everywhere, and he pointed at the different people walking across the streets to get to where they were going. "Actually it kind of reminds me of home. It isn't huge like Metropolis, or Gotham. But it's not small ether."

He shrugged and kept behind him. “Maybe I just really like walking.” A huge, evident, flashing lie. Bart was constantly getting yelled at for running indoors and for going too fast up the stairs. He complained when people inched forward in front of him. He claimed that Oliver got to places way to slow and wasted time. When he couldn’t run faster than everybody else, he was miserable and let everybody know it. Virgil getting his ability back for him was better than Christmas and Easter and Halloween combined. Oliver had immediately sent him off to pick up something in New York, to make him feel useful again or to give him something to do. It had worked and Bart had stopped feeling worthless and he came back five minutes later to tell Virgil about the morons Oliver worked with.

If Virgil sulked enough at him he could get Bart to do almost anything. Half the time he didn’t notice and therefore couldn’t get angry with him. He had money. He always did. Oliver made certain of that, but it didn’t mean that he was out there throwing it away every chance he got. Right now, he didn’t want anything. Following Virgil to wherever he wanted to go sounded like enough fun to him. Virgil didn’t have to worry that he was going to get bored one day and wonder off. He clung to him in ways that he would never cling to anybody else. Bart relied on him like he relied on Clark and Oliver, to keep him in line and to keep him away from trouble. Be that as it may, he leaned on Virgil the most.

As he fell into a pace beside him, Bart smiled at him approvingly. “I’m gonna hold you to that. Just so you know.” Always, he was willing to tell Virgil whatever he wanted to know. Sometimes, he could say things to him that he couldn’t say to the others. “It reminds me a lot of home. I mean, I guess it still sorta is, minus all the important places.” Lawrence was a hundred times better than Chicago or New York. It was better than everywhere really, as far as he was concerned.

"Yeah right. And I'm the next Queen of Camelot." He mused at him as he let his fingers lace with his. "I heard Oliver yell at you at least five times this morning." Virgil said with a very smug air of "I saw what you did thar". "But I'm glad he did. I was worried." He admitted carefully. Not so much worried that he'd hurt Bart if he couldn't get him his powers back, but that he wouldn't get them. There was no real guarantee with these things. "This whole electricity thing is sort of a learn as you go thing, you know? I knew it worked on me." He was a little guilty about it, but he offered a tiny smile. He'd only been working on theory when he tried it on Bart. "It isn't easy. Theres alot of math and science involved, using it on other people..you know, making sure I don't fry anyone from the inside out." He winced at the idea. It was the one reason Virgil paid attention in school, so he didn't hurt people he loved with his ability. He made it seem easy, because he had a couple years of experience he sort of knew what to do more or less but there was still wiggle room for learning.

Fortunately for Bart he didn't often pout and misuse the look because when he did it was impressive. He still had a little of what he did when he got his last allowance from his dad. He hadn't entirely spent it on comic books like he would have wanted to. His and Richie's comic day got interrupted. "You know what, theirs a comic store down the street." He suggested with a cheeky grin offhandedly as if he hadn't looked it up before they left. Virgil trusted Bart more than he did anyone in the entire city. Probably more than even Oliver. He listened to him. That didn't happen with many people, his own sister could attest to that. She had to tell him to do things at least five times before he was even moderately interested in looking into her "suggestions". Richie too sometimes, he could get a little over baring with the whole Static thing. Bart never did, he never pressured him in any way over anything, and Virgil liked it. It gave him more freedom than he was used to.

"I'd be worried if you didn't." he snickered and squeezed his hand. "Yeah..and people. Okay, maybe it isn't much like home exactly..but it isn't scary like I thought it was when we first got here. Not with you." He smiled shyly and kicked at a small stone as he walked beside him pretending to look off at something sheepishly.
