Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:guinevere, morgana

Who: Guinevere and Morgana
What: Bringing her to safety
When: Just after her arrival
Where: The library
Warnings/Status: None/Incomplete

Gwen rushed as fast as she could, her curls bouncing behind her as she did. She knew how to get to the library, at least that was something. It meant she could get to Morgana faster. She didn't want to leave her alone in this place right now. Not after her getting kidnapped and going missed for so long.

That was another reason for her rush. She wanted to see her. She hadn't in so long and had been so worried. Yes, the situation with the dragon did distract her for that moment, but she still missed her. Wondered how she would help during the dragon incident. Of course, that was when she wasn't worrying about Arthur and Merlin, and all the other's in Camelot.

Soon, she reached the library and she rushed up to where they kept the computers, looking for her mistress.

All of this was more than anything Morgana could have ever dreamed. It wasn't a nightmare .. exactly. She had seen much worse than 'computers' and people dressed in coarse materials. At least nothing around here was attempting to kill someone she loved. Yet. However, at the same time, as strange as everything she lived through was, they were in books. They could be explained by Giaus. Time travel ... was an entirely new concept. It was disconcerting but Morgana knew that it could be worse. She could have been here alone. She was comforted by the fact that Gwen was here. She was so very happy to be able to see her. Even if she had just seen her a few moments ago. Although, to be honest, there was a large part of her that didn't want Gwen in this future. Where demons apparently existed. Morgana would have called Spike insane. Except Arthur fought griffins. She saw the future in her dreams. And she was currently at a library where women wore trousers and no one said a single thing about it.

Morgana would have waited for Gwen outside, but she had more question and she wanted to get as many of them answered as possible. As it was, she kept looking up. Stretching her head for the familiar curly head of her friend. She should have told Gwen that she would find her. Morgana knew that Gwen was more than capable. However, after loosing her so briefly ... If anything happened to her. The Lady would have never forgiven herself. Ever.

She spotted Gwen first and Morgana pushed back quickly from her chair. With elegance but the rapidity of her movements very nearly sent the seat flat against the floor. "Gwen!" She called out. Not very loudly but loud enough to catch the other woman's attention. Morgana ignored the 'shush'ing and walked towards the other woman.

She was nervous and scared. That would never be admitted to anyone. But if it would be admitted, it would be admitted to Gwen. She was just so happy to see her. Yes, even if she had just seen her moments ago. Because before those moments she had spent days worrying about her friend's safety. Morgana hadn't intended in letting Gwen out of her sight. Being in some strange land didn't change that.

Morgana came closer and Gwen couldn't help herself, she flung her arms around her Lady. She had missed her so much, had been so worried. And now she had her here. Even though she wished Morgana hadn't been dragged to this place she was so glad to see her. She had her here and knew she could keep her safe. Pulling back, she looked up at her.

"You're safe," she said with a relieved smile before flinging her arms around her. They always had been this close and it didn't make it any more awkward than usual. Yes she shouldn't be like this with her mistress, but Morgana had always been more than the person she cleared up for.

For Morgana it had just been a few hours ago that she'd held Gwen this tightly, this securely. She didn't mind doing it again. Friends hugged. Gwen and herself tended to stand arm against arm whispering companionably to each other. As she'd just told Uther the day Gwen had been taken, the other woman was much more than a servant. To Morgana Gwen had long been a good friend first. It might not have been proper but she'd always been one to upturn her nose to propriety when she felt that it clashed with what was important. Gwen's friendship was something precious to her.

When the other woman pulled back, Morgana gave her a warm smile. Happy to see her. Gwen had told her that she'd been taken. Morgana understood that what had just been a few moments ago for her had been much, much longer for the other woman. She didn't understand how but she knew it was true. Any doubts she might have had about the strangeness and the impossibilities of this place were erased, near immediately, because Gwen was here. Gwen who had never lied to her. Gwen who she rightfully trusted with her life. Gwen would never make up that she'd been taken. "I'm safe." She assured her, when the other woman hugged her again. "I'm safe, Gwen. And I'm happy to see that you are too."

Part of her never wanted to let go of Morgana, afraid that if she did she would just disappear again. She did not want that to happen. Knowing that she had let some strange sickness, Merlin never fully explained what had happened, knock her down and resulted in Morgana being taken hurt her so much. She felt so guilty. She was meant to protect her and yet found herself waking up in Morgana's bed after feeling ill. She didn't know what had happened between then, but she knew Morgana was gone when she woke.

"I'm fine," she said with a nod, agreeing that she was safe.

Morgana reluctantly removed herself from her friend's hug, but she caught hold of Gwen's hand and gave her a reassuring and comforting squeeze. "We should go now." She said, before leading Gwen towards the door of the library. "How long have you been here?"

She let Morgana take her hand, her eyes taking in her mistresses face. Part of her had thought that she was lost to her and here she was. She nodded when she said they should leave, looking over at the question.

"Not too long," she said with a small smile.

"That's good." She said. "I wouldn't want to think that you've had to deal with all this without anyone from home." She would have hated knowing that Gwen had dealt with all of this alone. Gwen would understand that it wasn't that Morgana believed her to be incapable of taking care of herself-obviously Gwen had done so before meeting Morgana and since then-but because she cared and would have been worried. She tried to take care of Gwen as best as she could. And considering the period that Morgana had come from, she felt as if she hadn't done that very well. Yes, it was practical that Morgana had gone for help but she was never going to stop regretting leaving Gwen alone with those barbarians. The fact that she could be here with her friend now, that Gwen hadn't been here for long on her own, brought some relief.

And Morgana knew that Gwen wasn't understating things just to make her feel better. She might have not been able to read Gwen as well as she could Arthur; but she always knew when something was troubling her friend.

"We've been through so much in Camelot but never would I have ever imagined coming to a place such as this one." She said after a moment of companionable silence.

"I've been coping."

Yes she missed everyone, but she was good at not focusing on those type of emotions and just working through everything. When Morgana had been taken she had focused on the work she had been given, helping with Gaius, especially with the dragon there. And she was also so focused on Arthur coming home safe that for a moment she had forgotten about her lost mistress.

"We have. But this place...You can imagine how everyone else would react to such a place."
