James had to admit, college life so far wasn't that bad. It was true that the classes were more challenging than they were in high school, but he liked the challenge. It gave him something to conquer (in a sense). Math was a bit harder but James knew if worse came to worse he could always seek out a tutor. Whether it be on campus or someone the Seal had brought through. Thinking of that led his mind to Mary Margaret and her willingness to help catch him up before he went to high school here. He smiled. She had been a good tutor and had made it so he could easily understand things. He wouldn't be at college if it hadn't been for her after all.
Adjusting his bag, he headed to his next class. Biology 101 was a lot different so far than high school bio. But again, he knew if he needed to he could ask for help. No doubt Jemma would be willing to help him grasp anything he didn't understand. Though he'd need to ask her first. No sense in assuming things, right? Entering the lecture hall he nodded to a few people he had started to befriend before sliding into a seat near the front and tugging his notebook out. Snagging a pen as well, he sat back in his seat and waited for the class to begin. Once it did, he began attentively taking notes, making sure his writing was legible (something he had struggled with when rapidly trying to take notes in high school).
But soon the class ended and James packed up his things and glanced at the clock. He had enough time to grab something to eat before his English class. He blinked when his sketchbook fell from his back and someone picked it up, glancing at the page it had opened to.
"This is really good," the young woman complimented, smiling.
"Uh, thanks..." he flushed.
"Are you an art major?"
"No I'm um, I don't have a declared major yet."
"You should consider it."
James nodded and took the sketchbook back, sliding it into his bag as the woman hurried off to catch up with her friends. Maybe he should consider art as a major... It was something he enjoyed doing. He just didn't want his love for drawing to be ruined by classes. He'd have to ask his advisor about it. But for now, it was off to get food then finish up his classes.
