Ever since she had publicly revealed to Rose, Jim and Scorpius why she was constantly sending the young wizard out on errands, Regina, had been avoiding them. Scorpius more so than the others. And rightfully so. She was absolutely mortified that she hadn’t thought to filter them all out. That conversation should have stayed between her and Robin. No one else had needed to know. But like she had done times in the past she hadn’t thought of what she was saying before hitting submit. One day she would finally learn to be more careful.
Regina was less worried about her two dearest friends. Rose and Jim were certainly aware what she and Robin did in their free time together. They were the ones who would watch their young sons on those nights. But until then Regina had hoped that Scorpius was oblivious to it. That he saw her sending him out on errands as her placing her trust in him. Especially following the earthquake. No teenager wanted or needed to know that his mother was having sex with her boyfriend. Even if said teenager was smart enough to figure it out for himself.
So, when Regina exited the cabin, late that morning, she took a slight walk around the property. At some point she was going to have to talk to her oldest son. She knew that Robin wanted her to do it sooner rather than later. But that was a conversation that Regina just wasn’t prepared to have. As she came around the house to head back inside she stopped abruptly. It seemed that the powers that be weren’t going to let her avoid Scorpius any longer.
With a slight smile on her face she stayed back and watched as he performed harmless magic. It continued to amaze her how different and innocent the magic from other worlds could truly be. Without her permission her feet began walking towards the teenager. It was time.
So as to not startle him, Regina, called out, “Good Morning, dear,” before she walked up alongside him.
