Damon appreciated her not pushing. It was something a few years ago she wouldn't have been able to do. And, it amused him at how quickly she'd grown up. He actually like her now. Not that he'd ever tell her that of course. But, at this moment he actually appreciated her silent company. It was companionable and non-intrusive. Weirdly comforting, ina way which they very rarely were for each other. Except for when they were competing at being neurotic. Sometimes, she was his favourite person to bicker with.
But, right now he didn't feel like bickering. However familiar it was. He just wanted to sit here and drink and feel sorry for himself. "Welcome to life in Lawrence, Blondie." He snarked, although his town wasn't quite as snarky as it would normally be. "She'll probably be back, but if things stay the way they have been lately...." He couldn't say the rest. That she wouldn't remember being there. He'd lvoe her regardless, but it would still be hard.
