Damien had to agree. There was another life where he hadn't shown care.. but now. The years he had spent here, it changed him in some ways. He had experienced loss at several different times, a couple of which were part of a timeline future that didn't happen. They'd all prevented it, but sometimes that feeling was still there. He'd prefer to spare human lives if given the chance. It was the monsters and truly evil things that he would end swiftly. Never again would he let any human around him die needlessly if he could help, especially if it was something he'd be able to prevent. He'd seen too much of it in his time here already.
He certainly wasn't one to flinch so quickly. He might have, had the attacks been more serious, but he could tell Levi was the victor without that. It had been very close after all. He was surprised to hear none of his reasons were the cause for error. But the man's remark made sense. "Ah, know your enemy," he said with a nod. "I Think Sun Tzu wrote a bit on it, I think the passage was.. 'If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.'" He added, "Although, one would have to have skill too, just relying on knowledge might not get one far."
Once again Damien was grateful for the advice and instruction. And Levi meant by not only ground attacks, was he saying he fought from the air as well? That was quite the advantage. And now the man had handed his swords to him for demonstration. He was appreciative of that and grateful for the chance. They appeared sharp, dangerous as he held them, skilled craftsmanship. Different than most blades he'd seen before. But quite light. Most intriguing. Yes, better to be shown the defense than simply be spoken of. Easier to retain mentally in that way. He took a breath replaying Levi's recent move in his mind, like seeing a looped scene in a movie. "Okay, here goes," he spoke then, quickly spinning on his feet, swords held in the position just as he'd remembered done toward him previously. He was going quick, toward the left direction to make himself closer and closer by the moment, and striking the left blade in a forward motion toward the neck, just as he'd recalled seeing it.
He would of course stop a good inch from contact, though he thought that wouldn't be necessary. He knew Levi had a defense against it (and was proven to be the superior fighter in this instance) and no doubt that is what would happen within the next second or so. And he was quite curious as to what the move would be.
