STATUS: Incomplete / Closed.
She'd been in Lawrence for about a little while now, but Emma still found that she adjusting. She'd gotten to used to certain things, like having to work things all out with Regina again, that she'd been there before, but she didn't really seem to mind those things now. She'd worked things out with Regina before, she seemed to be making progress on that front (well, to her, at least). As for being there before, she'd come to terms with that. She'd gotten to meet people that knew her before, and were good people, like Clint and Tasha, and Sam. And crazy evil vampires running around aside, she liked Lawrence, at least, thanks to the people she'd met so far. Plus, she had a house. That had to be something.
The weirdest thing that Emma was still having a hard time wrapping her head around was watching herself on television on Sunday nights. Finding out that she was fictional had been strange, but that was at least somewhat easy to comprehend. Watching herself on tv and knowing what was going on back home, but not actually being able to do anything about it...was a little bit unsettling to say the least. And Emma couldn't say that she liked what she was seeing. Her parents were lying to her. Gold was trying to turn her heart to darkness to suit his own means. Yeah, they'd got August back, and that at least was good to see, but watching her friend get tortured on television wasn't exactly fun, either.
At least, she had Neal there, and he understood what she felt. Though the two of them shared a somewhat complicated past, Emma was at least glad to have him around. She was working on things with Regina, and while Ariel was sweet, it was nice having a friend that she could talk to easily. After everything they'd been through, Neal was a very important person to her, and always would be. That, and it was nice that he was alive and well here and not, well, dead. Plus, he was always a good drinking buddy.
Which was what they were doing right now. Living in the same house, Emma didn't have to worry about leaving to meet up with Neal, and them going on their own. Plus, magic was a good way to ward against crazy vampires. She'd been practicing her fireballs, and they'd gotten pretty damn good, if she did say so herself. So, they made their way to Bed of Roses, and both got seats at the bar.
"Pick your poison," she said to Neal. "I've got the first round."
