The sound of a human voice was both refreshing and terrifying all at the same time. Levi didn't know what to make of it. It could be from anyone, anywhere, based on what he was seeing. He was nowhere near their city, nowhere near civilization, and Levi was on edge. Ready to swing his blades in defense at any moment, he spun gracefully when he saw the girl not that far from him. One thing he had learned in his life thus far was to never underestimate people based on their appearance. She might be a girl and she might be young, but so had been Petra. And that one girl...Mikasa. Both could hold their own more so than many veteran soldiers.
"I am not your 'buddy'," remarked Levi dryly. "And you have two seconds to start explaining to me where the hell I am. And one of those seconds should not be to tell me that I'm in a graveyard. I'm far too familiar with what that looks like." Well. This one looked a bit different from what he was used to. But, it had the same qualifications. He wasn't about to admit everything about how out of place he felt.
He didn't know what this Mardi Gras was that she had mentioned, however. That word was completely unfamiliar to Levi. He guessed that she would tell him eventually what she'd meant, that, or he could get the information out of her no problem. It wouldn't be hard, considering what he knew and what he'd done in the past.
