Driving gave him something to focus on other than having Mercy so close. Spotting a restaurant he knew Mercy wouldn't turn her nose up at, he made his way towards the drive thru and waited in line patiently. He had no doubt in his mind she could smell Jesse and herself in the car. When she agreed to take the classes he glanced at her, his eyes soft and back to their normal hue as he pushed the sunglasses up to the top of his head. "Thank you," he said, relief coming off of him.
He allowed the car to pull up a bit as the line moved. When she asked about what he remembered from home, he smiled a bit. "A lot more than you," he returned. He looked back in front of him. "It can be explained later once you've had time to settle in." He glanced at her. "Not all of it is good." He licked his lips and figured it couldn't hurt to ask now to let her have time to think about it.
"I...also have a favor to ask of you that's your choice," he said. "You know I've been without a true pack and the bonds for nearly two years...and it's...wearing on me finally. I'd like to ask you to become pack." He looked at her after moving the car up. "Take your time to decide Mercy. I know my asking this is more than for a plate of cookies."
