Mercy's own fingers felt as though they were on fire from that brief touch, and it annoyed her to no end that he could do that to her. But combined with his closeness and his scent hitting her full force....it was hard to put it aside. The order, though, had her gaze immediately snapping to his, anger at the command in her own. "I'll see if I have time," she said hotly, pushing off of the wall and deliberately stepping to the side and past him, refusing to give him any more leeway now that he was standing in front of her. The fact that his eyes weren't too far off from her own shade helped, too.
"I'd rather eat first," she said honestly. "Or on the way." Changes in rapid succession like hers had been that day left her with a killer appetite, and her stomach actually growled softly to echo the sentiment. Leaving him to come on his own, she started to walk towards his car at a steady pace, though she knew he'd end up reaching the car at the same time she did so that he could open the door.
He was old-fashioned that way....not that she minded. Much.
