"It's northwest of here, but it's actually not that different. Weatherwise, they're a lot alike. My school was kind of in the middle of nowhere, though, so there wasn't as much to do. We had to go to Missoula to go shopping which was a few hours away and we didn't really get to do it that often." That didn't count the two years she and Lissa had spent away from the Academy, of course. They'd been in Chicago for awhile, then, and Portland after that, until they'd been caught and dragged back to school. Even then, they didn't do a ton of shopping, but they got to do other things. They got to act like normal kids. It was nice. It was freedom. That was something Rose liked about Lawrence, too. They didn't have to deal with the crazy politics or Lissa being queen. Rose loved her life at home, but she was growing to like Lawrence, too.
To be fair, Rose had never actually tried goose liver, but she thought it sounded disgusting. "I'm not sure I ever want to eat anything with the word pâté in it," she laughed. "Give me a pizza or a cheeseburger any day." Yep, Rose was a girl who could face down a pack of strigoi without blinking and getting shot was no big deal, but questionable foods? Those scared her. It was something her friends would be teasing her about if they could hear this conversation.
